VISION STATEMENT To Know CHRIST and to make CHRIST known
I. The Scriptures
We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as divinely inspired to be the Word of God. They are our all sufficient and only guide to faith and practice.
II. The True God
We believe in one God, ruler over all, a triune God, revealed to us as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
III. The Fall of Man
We believe that all people are by nature sinners, alienated from God, and that each person must repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ as personal Savior in order to be saved.
IV. The Way of Salvation
We believe that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, eternally pre-existent with the Father, who by the Holy Spirit was born of the Virgin Mary, took upon Himself human nature, obeying the laws, suffered death as a sacrifice of sin, rose from the dead, ascended to heaven, and lives to make intercession, and is thus qualified to be an all-sufficient Savior.
V. The Gift of Salvation
We believe that salvation is freely offered as a gift to all who will accept it, but it becomes effectual to none but those who repent of sin and believe in Jesus Christ.
VI. Repentance and Faith
We believe that repentance consists in a sincere sorrow for sin as committed against God and in forsaking all known sin. We believe that faith in Christ consists in a cordial acquiescence in the way of salvation provided by Him, in renouncing every ground of justification before God and taking Him as the Savior, the Teacher, and Ruler of the soul.
VII. Regeneration
We believe that every person must be reborn by the power and work of the Holy Spirit, justified by imputed righteousness, a gift of God to believers in Christ only. When saved we have eternal life in Christ.
VIII. The Church
We believe that a local church of Christ is a congregation of believers baptized upon profession of their faith in Christ as their only Savior, associated by covenant in faith and fellowship of the Gospel, observing the ordinances of Christ, governed by His laws and exercising the gifts, rights, and privileges invested in them by His Word.
IX. Baptism and the Lord’s Supper
We believe that there are only two ordinances given to the Church by its great head, Jesus Christ. They are baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper. Baptism is to be administered only to believers. The Lord’s Supper is to commemorate the death of Christ until He comes again and is open to all believers.
X. The Lord’s Day
We believe that Sunday, the first day of the week, is the Lord’s Day. It should be kept sacred and holy as unto the Lord; that it is to be religiously observed by the Church collectively and by individual members.
XII. Religious Freedom
We believe in the religious liberty for every individual, and that individual Christians and churches must cooperate in their effort to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the world.
XIII. The Resurrection
We believe in the second coming of Christ. We believe that there will be a bodily resurrection of both the just and the unjust, and that all will appear at the judgment seat of God to be judged according to the life lived upon this earth. In the final separation of the wicked from the righteous, we believe that the wicked shall go into eternal punishment and the righteous into eternal life with God.
